Although the purge herb has been known for thousands of years, one can get the impression that it has only become really popular relatively recently. There is indeed such a thing as a purge boom - suddenly everyone is drinking it! In our organic shop you will also find a large selection of different cleaning preparations, which is why we are asking ourselves today: What does this rather inconspicuous-looking plant owe its fame to?
Regular drinking of cistus infusion has extremely positive effects on a number of aspects of health - but the word "regular" is crucial here. As with most herbal teas, it's the consistency that counts: it's not worth expecting any effects after drinking Cistus once. Only systematic (for at least a month) brewed tea according to the instructions on the packet brings the desired results - but patience pays off, because purge has numerous positive effects.
cleaning, because... cleans? Yes!
Cistus has a reputation for cleansing the body of toxins - and with good reason. Cistus herb removes accumulated heavy metals from the body. Drinking the infusion is also recommended for smokers and residents of big cities. The cleansing, detoxifying properties of the detox are among the first to be felt at the beginning of the treatment!
A powerful antioxidant
Cistus contains many polyphenols that are powerful natural antioxidants, i.e. substances that help eliminate free radicals responsible for cell destruction and aging. This plant therefore has a rejuvenating effect (or actually: anti-aging!), but also reduces and eliminates inflammation.
How to deal with acne
As any acne sufferer knows, the key to getting rid of this pesky disease is not what we put on our skin, but what we eat and drink. One of the ways to get rid of acne is drinking cistus, which - acting from within - helps cleanse the skin of pimples and cysts. In addition, it regulates the secretion of sebum, which has a positive effect not only on the condition of the skin, but also on the condition of the hair.
Weapon in the fight against allergies
Purge's anti-inflammatory effects make it a powerful tool for relieving allergy symptoms. For relief, allergy sufferers can drink an infusion of this plant during the pollen season of the plants they are allergic to.
Shield against microbes
The antibacterial effect of Purge can be used in many ways. Some people use the infusion of this plant as a mouthwash (in this capacity it can effectively replace ready-made solutions, often contaminated with toxic triclosan solutions), others support it in the fight against colds and flu (in our eco-shop you can even buy one with vitamin C enriched cleansing preparation!) and still others use it to wash or gargle infected or inflamed skin.
How are rinses dosed?
Dried cistus, like most herbs, is poured over with hot, but not boiling, water. It should take about 10 minutes. The infusion can be drunk immediately or in small sips over a longer period of time.Regularity is very important, as we noted at the beginning: the cleansing regimen should last at least a month
