Flax is a plant species from the flax family (Linaceae), which belongs to the order Malpighiales. There are about 180 species in the temperate and subtropical climate zones of the Mediterranean region. About 6 species occur in Poland, with common flax being the most important. The upright stems with a thick primary crown reach a height of up to 60 cm. The flowers of the plants, which usually bloom for only one day, are mostly blue, but also occur in white, red, pink, and yellow.
Cold-pressed flaxseed oil is obtained from selected seeds of common flax. It contains approx. 60% alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), linoleic acid (omega-6), oleic acid (omega-9), as well as vitamins B and E. It has a soothing effect on skin cracks, is regenerative and moisturizing, and stimulates the regeneration processes of the dermis and epidermis. It protects against split ends, hair loss, and brittle hair. Suitable for oily, acne-prone, and wrinkle-prone skin.
