Antarctic Superba ™ Krill Oil contains omega-3 in the form of phospholipids, mainly phosphatidylcholine. This ingredient, which is a form of lecithin, is involved in the nutrition of the cells in our head and contributes to the proper development of the nervous system. In order for phospholipids to be processed well, they must be bound to the appropriate type of fat, for example with omega-3 acids (DHA and EPA). After absorption, phosphatidylcholine is taken up by cell membranes and is involved in the transport of fatty acids. Additionally, Krill Oil Superba™ contains astaxanthin, one of the most powerful antioxidants necessary to maintain optimal levels of omega-3 fatty acids.
